The "Liquid Crystal" Battery Inside Your Body

Water is much more than something that keeps you hydrated.

Inside your body exists an extraordinary form of water that behaves very differently from the liquid water you drink. This unique phase of water, known as exclusion zone (EZ) water, is one of the reasons sunlight is such a fundamental part of human health.

Your Body Contains a Fourth Phase of Water

Most of us learned that water exists as a liquid, solid, or gas.

But inside your body, water also exists in a fourth phase called exclusion zone, or EZ, water.

EZ water is a liquid crystalline phase. It is called a liquid crystal because its molecules are arranged in a highly ordered structure, much like a crystal, while still maintaining the ability to flow like a liquid.

Unlike ordinary liquid water, EZ water also carries a negative electrical charge.

Immediately adjacent to this negatively charged water is a layer of positively charged protons. Together, these separated charges create stored electrical potential.

In other words, the water throughout your body functions like a massive biological battery.

Your Energy Does Not Come Only From Food

We have been taught that food is our body's only source of energy.

That is simply not true.

Your body can also harness energy from the electrical potential stored within its water network. One of the primary ways it does this is through exposure to natural light.

Two wavelengths are especially important: infrared (IR) and ultraviolet (UV).

  • Infrared Builds the Battery
Infrared light is present throughout the daylight hours, from dawn until dusk. Its job is to expand the size of the EZ water network. As the exclusion zone grows, more electrical charge is created, increasing your body's stored potential energy. This is one reason sunlight is so valuable, even when UV light is not present. In addition to sunlight, infrared exposure can also come from sauna use, infrared panels, exercise, and even cold exposure.

  • Ultraviolet Charges the Battery
Ultraviolet light serves a different purpose. When UV light interacts with EZ water, it energizes the water network by generating millions of free electrons within what is known as the coherent domain.

Together, infrared and ultraviolet light help build and charge your body's internal battery.

Maintaining a healthy EZ water network has enormous implications for health.

Low EZ has been associated with conditions including cardiovascular disease, chronic inflammation, and cancer. I also believe low EZ will ultimately be recognized as a contributing factor in virtually every disease involving mitochondrial dysfunction.

Ways to Build and Charge Your EZ Water

If you want to support your body's internal water battery, here are some of the most effective habits to incorporate into your daily life:

  • Get outside every day, especially during the morning and midday, to receive both infrared (IR) and ultraviolet (UV) light.
  • Spend time in natural sunlight throughout the day. Infrared light is present from dawn until dusk and helps build EZ water.
  • Safely expose yourself to midday sunlight when UV is available to help energize your EZ water.
  • Use a sauna or other therapeutic heat practices to increase infrared exposure.
  • Take warm or hot therapeutic baths to harness the benefits of heat.
  • Exercise regularly, which naturally generates infrared energy within your tissues.
  • Incorporate appropriate cold exposure, which also stimulates the production of infrared energy in the body.
  • Stay properly hydrated and replenish electrolytes to provide the raw materials needed to maintain healthy cellular water.
  • Reduce unnecessary non-native EMF exposure, which can interfere with the structure and function of EZ water.
  • Prioritize healthy mitochondrial function through a circadian lifestyle, since your mitochondria and your body's water network work together to produce and distribute energy.

Supporting your EZ water is not about doing one thing perfectly. It is about consistently giving your body the light, heat, movement, hydration, and environmental signals it was designed to receive.

For that reason, supporting my EZ water battery is one of my daily priorities.

Regular exposure to natural sunlight provides both infrared and, during the appropriate time of day, ultraviolet light. Together, they help your body build and energize one of its most important sources of biological energy.

Suggested Protocols

If you would like practical, step-by-step guidance for supporting your body's water battery, these protocols dive much deeper into the strategies discussed in this article:

  • Daily Hydration Protocol – Learn how to support hydration at the cellular level, including the roles of EZ water, minerals, electrolytes, and the environmental factors that influence how your body makes and maintains structured water.
  • Heat Protocol – Discover how saunas, therapeutic bathing, and other heat therapies help build EZ water, support circulation, drainage, detoxification, and mitochondrial function.
  • Daily Sunlight Protocol – Learn how to safely use sunlight throughout the day, including infrared and ultraviolet exposure, to support your circadian rhythm, energy production, and cellular health.
  • EMF Mitigation Protocol – Understand practical ways to reduce unnecessary electromagnetic stressors that can disrupt mitochondrial function and the structure of your body's water.
